Hubby and I are soooo in love with our house!!! We wake up to wallabies every morning eating grass, bandicoots, large lace monitor lizards (eating our chicken eggs mind) and an array of beautiful birds.
The house is so comfortable to live in, especially now we have our gorgeous big dining table.
However the internet is dodgy at best and blogging is a wishful art and only works when for some random reason I get full connection speed. So here are some quick pics of where we are at. We still have quite a few smalll jobs to do, and purchases to make. So the couch looks a little bland etc.
But here are our gorgeous white shutters LOVE THESE!!! Our rustic french style dining table and our big comfy couch, which is beginning to be a challenge to lift my large pregnant body off :) Oh and of course the piano from my In-laws house, which is put to good use!

Council inspection
We almost passed our final inspection the only relatively large thing to fix was the ballustrade height was too low so we added another handrail to get through.
So looks like next Wednesday we will load the truck and move in on Thursday. I am a little nervous after our robbery but I think it will pass, new places generally make me nervous for a bit until Iget used to the creaks and groans anyway.
So the next bit of the journey is close, the house is 3/4 packed and looking very much like box monster tried to eat everything and spit half onto the floor.
So just 8 more days in our little house and we will be out in the open spaces enjoying the gorgeous spring weather and hopefully planting at least some vegies in the concrete laundry tub to get us through for a bit. Also we have decided to do a small paved area of the side of the hosue for the BBQ with some bricks my husband got from freecycle, and a freeform sandpit edged with large rocks and tree trunks next to it, I can see this will be a well-used space. Although apparently a mountain of rocks would be a fine addition to the playspace
Can't wait to show you pics when we are in but who knows how long it might take me to unpack, perhaps you will get a room at a time!
Not looking forward to the cleaning and prep of our little house for sale but will be relieved when it is on the market, a double mortage for this long has hurt the bank balance.

This is nly picture I have of the floor minus the Black Japan, but it does look great, shame our floor sander has so far taken 3.5 weeks and won't be done until next Wednesday, slowest floor sanding in history!!

What happens when you are nearly finished......
Welll for us on thsi journey someone breaks in and steals your brand new oven, your trailer and your ride-on mower, plus most of your husbands tools. A really crappy day. But the oven is insured, as were the other pieces but because they were at MAtilda the insurance company won't cover it.
So we kissed about $10000 good-bye last night, and are both feeling a little bedraggled, distrustful and down.
Hoping next week I can bring some good news.
Meanwhile is you hear of anyone selling a cheap Huqsvarna/Trailer/Oven send us a message :)

our other project
Here is the other project that I have been exhaustingly working on. Sorry the photo is a bit horrible but taken before school run when I could still do with some sleep and to do my hair.
So here we are at 18 weeks with my 4th bub.
Yep I am huge. I am blaming my twins for making my uterus tooo stretchy, :)
So we are hopefully 11 days away form moving into Matilda, excitement plus. Now just to find some packing fairies to finish all the packing.

Design finishing touches
Well we can see the end in sight. Floors need to be sanded. oven and kitchen sink need to be fitted and we are done. Actually Origin have stuffed us around with the Solar panels so they also need to be installed. So 4 steps.
The biggest hurdle is Council approval, hopefully they aare happy with what we have done and deem it all to satisfy.
So this is Matilda currently
So now I can't sleep for design finishing touches ideas, and worry about when we can actually get into this gorgeous house. Hope you like the almost finsihed product!!
Oh and sorry I can't comment, blogger just doesn't like me siging in and commenting but I love reading yours.

Can anyone say white???
Feeling very guilty about my booooorrrring posts of late, and unfortunately for you guys this will be no exception. Because if the weather holds we are hosting a 6th birthday party for 40 fairy girls tomorrow at the park and I have some things to do.
Buuuttt I couldn't resist sharing these..................

We have stairs
and many gorgeou white walls, so new looking and stunning, seriously stunning. The ceilings look higher and the arches taller, it is amazing. 138 tubes of stopgap though!!!

Ikea, and small changes
This week brought some small changes on Matilda, but not the dramatic changes we are used too!
It also brought a trip to ikea to search for lighting and bar stools.
So the dining table will be lit with this industrial pendant http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/10128178#/20196794/
To try and get this look in the dining room, but in a harsher way.

As we have gone along selecting I have moved away from the cutesy stuff I thought I adored to a far more rustic industrial style. But I love it!! Hope it all comes together.
Having said that we bought these stools - http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/10162327#/90162328/ which are pretty cutesy. But practical for three/four children to sit at safely.
Alright and here are the latest pictures with the underbattening painted and handrails on.
Evie's room
The front door all freshly painted.
The north facing nook with handrails
The underbattening colour.
Hoping we are less than a month from completion!!!

painting nearly through
The painting on the exterior is nearly complete. The grey is slightly different to how I thought it would look but happy to have a house that doesn't look as derelict. Love the white beams in the verandah!!
Tiling is nearly complete so I will post some progress shots on Friday.

Birthdays and announcements
This week my terrific two turned 4 years old. I am not good at cake decorating, but Octonauts was the request so my husband and I set to work, and this is the final product. Probably my best cake to date.
This is an 'Octopod' which unless you have a 2-5yr old you would never have heard of :)
and this is Kwasi!! Not too bad huh.
Then this is my excuse for not blogging as much as I should be.
Do you watch Grand Designs??
What happens when they build a one bedroom adult masterpiece,
they always fall pregnant?
So what about when you build a 4 bedroom house, with 3 children already??
So we decided to do our final IVF whilst the house was being done. I mean if it is good enough for Grand Designs it must be good enough for us.
And it was!!!
Blogger hates me today and I can't turn the pic to show you bubba number 4 for us!!
The morning sickness, and exhaustion have been horrid. Plus managing all the small aspects of the build.
But we are close, and very happy!!
So building work still to go
*ballustrades on the North corner
* rear and front stairs
* repair kitchen floor (additional cost)
plus....
Tiling work starts Monday
.....
Bathroom fit-out next week
and masses of interior painting.
Then work for us is the under floor insulation when they are finished, and shutters on the large front windows, plus window dressings for energy efficiency stars!!
We are hoping to be looking at moving in mid-September, fingers crossed!!
I'll try and get some pictures for you this week.

moving onwards
The visit today was exciting!! The changes were immense. We can see the house taking shape and little ideas coming together well. What do you think??? After my melt down it seemed like heaven out there today in the beautiful sunshine, birds singing constantly, and sun drenched verandahs. A gorgeous winter day.
